Read MoreWith the springing up of Muslim Primary Schools, not only in Ijebu area but all over the then Western Nigeria such as Lagos, Abeokuta, Ibadan, Oyo, Ilesha etc, a big problem arose for primary school leavers to gain admission to secondary schools.
In the then Ijebu Province, the Ijebu Ode Grammar School, established since 1913, the Remo Secondary School, the Olu-Iwa College and Molusi College, Ijebu-Igbo, three years and one year ahead of Ijebu Muslim College respectively, could not contain the problem. The founding of a Muslim School thus became an urgent necessity.
The Ijebu Muslim College Old Students’ Association, IMCOSA, officially formed in 1956, has gone through stages of metamorphosis, finally stabilizing as a federation of Sets. Although each Set has its officers and holds meetings as deemed necessary, the National Body of the Association organises programmes and functions which are mutually agreed upon by the Parliament and all Sets participate.
